A Purr-fect Feature in Miami New Times: International Cat Salon

We’re delighted to share that the International Cat Salon at Gato Gordo Gallery was recently spotlighted in Miami New Times by India Amos (April 18, 2025) in Miami New Times.

Here’s what the article highlighted:

The exhibit celebrates an enchanting diversity of feline-inspired art—ranging from digital and painted works to sculptural miniatures and even a clay recreation of a saber-toothed tiger skull by Wendy Bale.

The gallery’s name, Gato Gordo (“Fat Cat”), reflects our belief that cats embody the curiosity, elegance, and mystery often found in great art.

The show reflects the international spirit of our gallery: featuring pieces from emerging talents around the globe and offering vibrant community gatherings that blur the lines between exhibition and social hub.

This recognition from Miami New Times is a wonderful affirmation of how creative, quirky, and communal the International Cat Salon truly became. We’re grateful for all the artist contributions and the warm response from visitors.
