Ætizay: Haitian Art Weekend at Gato Gordo Gallery

In May, during Haitian Heritage Month, Gato Gordo Gallery proudly presented Ætizay: Haitian Art Weekend, a three-day celebration of young Haitian artists working across genres.

The event featured painting, photography, digital art, poetry, music, dance, and live modeling, creating a space where different art forms came together in collaboration. Artists traveled from across Florida, New York, Atlanta, and even Canada—bringing friends, family, and new audiences into Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood.

We were glad to present this program in collaboration with Art of Black Miami and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, which helped us reach new visitors and highlight the richness of Haitian creativity.

🎥 We also captured the energy of the weekend in a short video featuring artist interviews. Watch it here: [YouTube]

Ætizay was more than an exhibition—it was an experience, one that highlighted the energy, talent, and cultural pride of a new generation of Haitian voices.
