ABOUT THE SHOW & THE ARTIST

WHERE IS LOVE? is the exhibition at Gato Gordo Gallery by EXTi, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice bridges urban culture, painting, storytelling, and emotional symbolism. In this show, EXTi introduces his signature ghost-character LOVE onto existing photographic works, transforming them into layered visual dialogues. The result: each image becomes a quest — Where is LOVE? — both within the frame and inside the viewer’s experience.

LOVE is not merely decoration or graffiti. It is an interpretive voice, a spectral presence, a poetic incantation, or a question in paint. Through his interventions, EXTi reframes the original meaning of each photograph without erasing it, adding tension, humor, irony, and heart. 

THE PHOTOGRAPHERS

Rafael Avcioglu — Where is LOVE? Rafael Avcioglu is a fine art portrait photographer known for crafting images of deep emotional resonance. His work captures the subtle interplay of connection, distance, vulnerability, and power in individuals, couples, and groups. His aesthetic is intimate but bold, deliberate yet open to interpretation.

In this exhibition, EXTi overlays LOVE onto Rafael’s existing portraits, introducing a ghostly counter-point: what does it mean to pose “I love you” when a wounded spirit hovers? Where is love in that frame? How does absence haunt presence?

Alberto López — LOVE is in Miami Alberto López emerges into photography from a background of law and the music business, bringing with him a refined sensibility, a love for rhythm, texture, and urban life. In this first gallery showing, his lens focuses on Miami’s bones and spirit: its geometry, contrast, neon, grit, and light. His photographs reject superficial glamor; instead, they look for the soul of the city—its hidden alleys, its silent corners, its heartbeat at dusk.

In LOVE is in Miami, EXTi’s ghost drifts through these cityscapes, occasionally bold, sometimes subtle, always questioning. LOVE might appear in a reflection, on a wall’s edge, on a windowpane, or bleeding into color , reminding us: maybe love is built into the city if we dare to see it. 

ABOUT LOVE

LOVE is the spectral creation of EXTi: a ghost, a symbol, a statement. With broken-heart eyes, ambiguous gestures, and playful subversions, LOVE appears across EXTi’s body of work—in murals, sneakers, canvases, street walls—and now in photography. LOVE is not passive: he interacts with what’s already there, sometimes affirming, sometimes disrupting, always provoking.

In WHERE IS LOVE?, LOVE unifies two photographic worlds—intimate human narratives and the sprawling cityscape—into one unified meditation. The ghost bridges vulnerability and street spirit, asking: Where is love? In individuals? In cities? In absence? In madness?
