In Her Own Light explores the feminine presence through a series of portraits in which beauty, strength, vulnerability, and introspection coexist. Rather than presenting a single idea of femininity, Susana Falconi approaches each woman as an individual presence, revealing different states of being, emotion, and self-awareness.

In some works, flowers emerge alongside the figures as extensions of their character—symbols of growth, transformation, delicacy, and resilience. In others, the floral element disappears, allowing gesture, posture, light, and shadow to carry the emotional weight of the image. The contrast between vibrant color and restrained compositions expands the exhibition beyond conventional notions of the feminine.

Falconi’s attention to the human figure and her careful treatment of light give these women a strong physical presence while suggesting an interior world that remains partly inaccessible to the viewer. They are observed, yet they do not exist merely to be observed.
