Oscar Esteban Martinez
Born in Pasto, Colombia, Oscar Esteban Martinez studied fine arts at the University of Nariño before relocating to the city of Cali. He began his artistic career with sculpture and later branched out into painting and drawing.
Because of his family’s artistic tradition and the Carnival de Negros y Blancos, he developed an early interest in the arts. His fascination with the human being, both as a social creature and in relation to nature, has always been central to his creative process.
Since the 1990s he has participated in numerous artistic events in his home country and around 10 years ago he built a growing international career that has taken him to several nations in South, Central and North America. There, he obtained various recognitions, not only for his creations but also for his workshops, owning to his passion for teaching.
In 2025, he was awarded by the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (Miami Beach) to create a public sculpture as part of the prestigious Art on Lincoln program, a recognition that highlights both his artistic trajectory and his contribution to public art.
